Déconstruction et réemploi

Comment faire circuler les éléments de construction

As a result of our research for the BBSM project, supported by the ERDF program 2014-2020, we published a book about reuse and deconstruction.
The notion of circularity is increasingly present in debates about sustainable buildings. Reusing construction elements is often considered a good strategy to achieve a substantial decrease in the environmental impact of construction industry. However, a range of cultural, economical and social  challenges need to be overcome in order to implement reused elements in ambitious architectural projects . This book examines these questions and offers some suggestions on how they may be answered. It develops an historical perspective on reuse practices, gives an insight on current trends and examines future perspectives.

Outline of the book:

  1. Démolition et récupération: perspective historique
  2. Niches et défis
  3. Pourquoi le réemploi?
  4. Récupérer la valeur enfouie dans le gisement
  5. Circularité dans l’artisanat et l’industrie
  6. Éléments
  7. Information
  8. Réemploi et économie de la fonctionnalité
  9. Des politiques publiques pour le réemploi
  10. Des actions pour jalonner le développement du réemploi

The book can be ordered online.
