Soft Power

Over the last ten years the Kristiaan Borret has influenced the architecture landscape of Brussels as  bouwmeester maître architecte. This retrospective explores the city's evolution over the years, showcasing specific projects.
The publication contains two projects that Rotor has worked on: Zinneke by Ouest Architects in collaboration with Rotor and Zinneke and Recypark Demet by 51N4E, which features reused elements by Rotor.

A series of guest contributions additionally examine the work of the BMA in fostering an urban environment that meets citizens' needs today and in the future. These short texts include one by Rotor: Less Demolition, More Reuse (Moins on démolit mieux on récupère).
This highlights how the BMA's positioning has enabled a shift towards conserving existing buildings in Brussels both in architectural practice and at an administrative level. With fewer demolitions there is more scope for salvaging and reusing materials and finding carefully reflected, case-specific solutions rather than taking a generalised approach to shaping the built environment.

The book is available as a PDF in Dutch and French.
